Personality/Temperment: Luci has a great personality. She loves everyone she meets. She knows to be gentle with babies and has amazing self control. She loved being a mom and will take care of any babies she finds. (although once she did grab day old quail chicks out of the brooder >.<) She gets wound up pretty easily but will also settle down as soon as you tell her. She tends to forget this when there is someone new over as she thinks ANYONE who is visiting is really there to play with her. She is very driven, biddable and smart. She has learned hundreds of words over her lifetime, most are just from talking to her naturally.
Drive: Luci is very driven. Specially when it comes to herding ducks or fetching. Even though I have used her on sheep, her preference is moving ducks. She will move tiny ducklings all the way up to our large geese. We use her to help round up our free range birds when we need to gather them for shows. She has a fairly large outrun but a rather loose eye and doesn't grip.
Work Ethic: She will work (or play) all day long if you tell her. She is ready at a moments notice. She is not soft and if she doesn't understand a command she has np being corrected and trying again.
Pet Potential: We orignally got Luci for a "pet" and not work. She came from a goat ranch in FL. Both parents are working dogs. She does very well as a house pet. Even though she gets very hyper she has np settling down and laying on the couch or sleeping on the bed. She is extra gentle with babies and young children.
Pups: Luci has had 4 litters and now retired from breeding. To date there are NO reported health problems(ears, eyes, joints, temperment, epilepsy etc) with any pups from Luci.

Cuke is living in S.Korea as an extremely pampered pup living in a 6000sqft home on the water.
Carolina is living in NC as the second BC in the home and enjoying life as a loved family member.
Hemp is enjoying the life in CA as a disc dog.
Harlee is living in MI with a retired farmer along with his collie sister.
Kota is living in PA as the second BC in the home and enjoying life as a loved family member.
Skipper lives in AB Canada on a horse ranch. He is also a certified therapy dog.
Sora lives in MD at Arian Farms where they raise Cardigan Corgis and Icelandic horses.

Luci was our second Border Collie. She came from a ranch in Inverness, FL. I got her on my 27th Birthday and right before I found out I was pregnant. Because of this she is very spoiled and she thinks she's a person! I would carry her around like a baby and she would sleep snuggled next to my belly as a pup. Even though she's a brat, I can't imagine life without her!
